American TV Routed by the Tribe of Trump

This post isn’t about the rights and wrongs of Brexit, Clinton or Trump but how these things have come to pass….

There are fundamental changes in the social opinion game, changes in the weaponry used in this game and this means a coming upheaval for the political and banking establishments across the world.

The TV has long been dying, this has been covered on previous blogs a couple of years ago now click here and click here to read these blogs.

Being regularly exposed to CNN (Clinton News Network) “sound boarding” and CNBC propaganda dressed up as news, you can be assured that the American establishment has been pounding the audience with anti-trump rhetoric using its TV and Radio artillery as per usual.

Trouble for any establishment is that the TV is dying and as it dies, so does the ability of the establishment to pummel public opinion into shape through social proof, consistent repetition and authority. The most corrupt regimes have fallen first but the march does not stop and any proclaimed democratic system needs to bend freely and quickly if it is to survive.

The trusty old telly is only dying because our attention is now focussed on hand-helds. There are very new tools and hand held weapons of mass influence available now. The spoils of political votes (just like new client sales for your business) are now going to the masters of these weapons.

Trumps hand-held weapon of choice was Twitter, aided by his highly trained brigade of opinion altering elite “shock troops” (social media trolls) like our very own Milo Yiannopoulos. Trumps legions were not only his tribe of supporters but the fake phantom accounts or bots which repeated and echoed his message enough times to ensure the tribal grapevine went viral.

Seth Godin wrote a masterful book about the rising power of the tribe and how it can be leveraged across distance and harnessed with social media. If you would like a copy I will send you one free, just reply back to this email with your address and I will send you one.

The mainstream doesn’t understand that it wasn’t that Clinton made less sense than Trump or didn’t have more supporters, she probably had both. The difference was that Trumps tribe was more fervent in its belief, it was better sold, more emotionally invested and as a result it was full of champions that made the sale for him.

Word of mouth is back and it’s on steroids…. the world is changing.

“In a battle between two ideas, the best one doesn’t necessarily win. No, the idea that wins is the one with the most fearless heretic behind it.” Seth Godin, Tribes
