Steve’s Blog: Let’s talk about your talented child/ grandchild in your area

Do you have a talented child or grandchild in your area?

You should read this one…

Why do the elite sprinters come from Jamaica? Ladies tennis stars from Russia? Distance runners from Kenya? The top footballers from Brazil?

Turns out it is not genetic, there is always a top percentage in every country and human ability doesn’t really change across the globe, it’s the gold mine effect.

Danish ex-pro footballer turned researcher, Rasmus Ankerson has analysed 7 gold mines including the ones listed above to “crack the secrets of elite performance”.

Did you know the most devastating thing you can do for your child’s future progress is to praise how talented they are at their chosen activity?

Don’t fret, you are not alone…

If you praise the work ethic and not the child’s talent then you are on the right track but there is a lot more to learn from the research if you want to set up future generations on secure foundations.

This is an emotive topic and something very close to my heart (www.steps-to-success.org.uk).

The Gold Mine Effect isn’t a nice, easy read story book, you only read it for your staff development or you read it for the infants of your house.

Would you like a copy of the book as a complimentary gift?

If you are the owner of a financial or accountancy business then email me back and I will send you a copy.

No charge, no strings, no hassle, just a genuine gift.

Yes or no?

We must pick up those that can’t, or by sheer weight of numbers the future will be dragged down.

  1. It sounds very similar to the concepts discussed by Matthew Syed in his book Bounce: The Myth of Talent, which is quite a good read.

I am interested in getting a free copy of the Gold Mine Effect please.
