Accountancy Practice / Financial Adviser business owners – Crossing the T will give you more money this year

You probably haven’t heard of crossing the T……. it’s a classic naval manoeuvre, a few moments sharing it will help you achieve results in your financial adviser / accounting firm this year.

2014 is going to be a year of huge opportunities for a rare few in the IFA / Accountancy sector who can capitalise on them. If I could give you one tip right now, which would help you join the elite, it would be to cross the T.

What is crossing the T?

Pre-missile era, the majority of guns ran along the sides of warships so naval fleets travelled and fought in lined formations to avoid blasting their own ships.

The art of crossing the T developed so that your ship line crossed in front of the opponent’s ship line (thus your line is the top of the T and his line are the stalk heading into yours).

On one level, the majority of your guns are on his ships whilst the majority of his guns are not on yours.

On another level of thought (and this is the crux) all of your guns are not just on his ships….. they are on his one leading ship, then they are all on the next ship and so on right through his fleet.

Only the top business owners apply this to their yearly business planning. Most will have between 4 and 100 things that need focus. They get to work achieving poorly on all of them.

What’s your biggest problem right now?

Put it on your mirror, phone, computer screen (wherever you will see it constantly) and don’t waste any of your fire power on anything else until you have sunk it.

When the lead problem is sunk then do the same for the next ship and so on.

A free business growth portal for fast growing IFA / Accountant business owners like you is being launched soon by the team here, it will share resources and latest best practice from the financial adviser / accountancy sector.

Be relentless in sinking that first lead ship.

We don’t just spout theory up here! Through crossing the T, in 2013 this team inspired over 6000 (yes thousand) British children that they are wonderfully and fearfully made through privately funding and managing our steps to success program.
