Working Class Made Good

The average kid who made good is a timeless story that resonates across the UK.

Being born without any advantage and then raising yourself up to huge success in your field simply demands our interest.

This is even more telling if you’re a young person because you can only aim as high for your life as you can see.

But a person who was once like you who has since become a legend, this is the stuff of children’s dreams, the stuff that weaves great future lives.

Real hope for young people based on the real foundation that if you sow the effort, you will reap the reward and that you too can do what I have done.

From either Holyrood or Westminster, if we can’t show children a hero, a genuine legend then, like so many “tin pot” regimes, we are just spewing out empty propaganda.

You probably missed the recent BBC show “Tumble” on Saturday nights featuring double gold medallist and Olympian Craig Heap as a judge….

Thankfully Craig has returned unscathed from fame and fortune in the city and is back to showing less affluent children that they too are wonderfully and fearfully made.

You can check us out or request a complimentary visit from “Heapy” to your local school at Steps to Success and you can follow the Heapsters tour on Twitter.
